Fresh Tomato Biscuits

How much more Southern can you get?

You will need:
1 (16.3 oz.)can of Flaky Buttermilk Biscuits
1/4 cup thick Mayo (use the real stuff)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup FRESH Basil leaves, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or to taste)
1 fresh tomato, thinly sliced

Heat over to 400. Mix Mayo, S&P, Basil, and garlic together.

Cook biscuits for about 6 minutes or until beginning to turn golden-brown.*

Remove and spread mayo mixture over the top of each biscuit and top each with one slice tomato. Cook for several more minutes.*

*Cooking times vary on this recipe. You want the biscuits to be almost done before you top them with mayo and tomato. You want the finished product in the oven just long enough for the tomato and mayo mixture to heat through.

Serve fresh and warm from the over!
They go great with grilled pork and buttered green beans (fresh, of course).

If you try this one, or make up your own variation of it, let me know. It's my favorite!
