war on the water

Husband had Monday off, which I consider a small miracle since he normally works approximately 60-70 hour weeks.

We spent the day with new friends on beautiful Lake Keowee where the shadow of the Blue Ridge mountains looms beyond vast, clear freshwater spotted with wooded islands and lined with tranquil dream homes.

It was in this surreal place that spousal war ensued on a round raft named "Big Shot."

It began as a fun ride. The wind blowing through our hair and life vests, the water lightly spraying our sunburned faces, and the raft easily rolling over the waves.

Then, Husband decided to make it more fun.

And then, low and behold, it happened:

He fell.

And I stood.

Victorious.

I guess you could say, rocking the boat will always put you in the lake.
But it all turned out well in the end:
Husband got his wild, rollicking ride
and I stayed afloat.
Everyone got what they wanted on this sunny holiday.
