what are you bringing to the table?

1. Paula Deen's easy (and pretty!) Raspberry Sherry Trifle

2. Southern Living's Red Velvet Cheesecake
(this one is a little more labor-intensive and must be made a day-ahead, but it's one of my all-time favorites!)

3. Bon Appetite's Frozen Grand Marnier Torte with Dark Chocolate Crust and Spiced Cranberries. Yum. This is the one I'll be contributing to the family feast this year.

  1. LOVELY! PHEW, my granddaughter and I spent SIX hours making cookies today and believe me, they did NOT turn out as adorable as yours. Actually, some of them were frightening. Our gel was runny and that made for decorating problems, but fun anyway.

Think I'll do red velvet or trifle for my writer's group.

  4. My grandmother's apple cake made with fresh apples and a marvelous glaze that you pour into the pan while the cake is still hot. The trifle recipe is similar to one I use and it is indeed delicious.
