I like something freshly baked (even if it is a boxed muffin mix or something from the bakery),
a personalized "Welcome" sign,
guest towels laid out with a little treat on top,
fresh flowers all over the house,
fresh flowers all over the house,
and a jar of cheerful salt water taffy in the guest room.
And then we spend the weekend sharing our favorite things, which this weekend just so happened to include Southern-style gelato. Among other things.
So, tell me:
How do you get ready for company?
For starters, I clean my dirty house! Haha! ~Mandy
ReplyDeleteYeah, that is always first! Along with a few Glade scented candles here and there so it doesn't smell like DOG!!!
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the company; cleaning and fresh towels, baking something,...
ReplyDeleteBy the way, a name day is a celebration of our name. Read the comment right above yours!!!
Love love salt water taffy!!! xxx

ReplyDeleteSounds like you're really settling into your new home nicely, Courtney...So glad for you (and your lucky friends! : ) )

Love your ideas! Are you taking reservations?! :)
ReplyDeleteNothing motivates me to clean quite the way having company does :) and if the company is from far away I like to treat them to a meal w/ New England "flavor"/local foods.
I put little glass milk bottles by the bed filled with water and mint. In the bath I have travel size shampoo/conditioner/mouthwash/lotion that I accidently picked up (stole) from the Ritz. I ALWAYS make sure every bathroom has a blow dryer.....a total must! oh, and I fold the toilet paper into a point and emboss a "B" on it. I'm totally obsessive about my guests!
ReplyDeleteoh, and one simple flower by the bed as well.
So sweet! What great little welcome for your visitors-- and I want to go stay at Kendall's house! Aside from cleaning, I like to put out fresh flowers, and make sure there are lots of easy appetizers--we buy good brie, bread, cured meats and olives, as well as a lot of fresh berries, to put out before dinner.
ReplyDeleteYes, I want to go visit Kendall, too!
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe YOUR house as well, Melissa!
