We left Charlotte Monday afternoon to celebrate my Grandmother-in-Law's 87 wonderful years of life.
We didn't arrive at my parent-in-law's house in Mobile until around midnight. Other family members had arrived before us, so we were willing and ready to make sleeping palettes on the floor and just "rough it."
However, my thoughtful 21-year-old sister-in-law decided to give up her bedroom and sleep in her 13-year-old sister's trundle bed all week long-- so we could have our own room.
We found a crisp, clean bed waiting for us, complete with fresh flowers and a tray of ice cold water. Better than a Bed and Breakfast.
You can sit out on the deck, the screen protecting you from the relentless mosquitoes, and enjoy an amazing view of the Mobile skyline from across the bay.
You can even see the historic USS Alabama Battleship from the deck.
And, of course there are raw oysters. I have no appreciation for them, but my husband does.
I appreciate this sort of thing, which they also serve.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!
Everyone seems to be doing fine...
Hi Lupine. Welcome Back. So sorry for your loss. What a lovely family it sounds like you married into given how much your SIL wanted to make sure you both felt at home - yet special :)
ReplyDeleteHey - if you go back to Aug 2 on my blog you'll find the "winter dress" post I said I'd write - not sure if you've seen it yet but just wanted to make sure you didn't miss it given that it was written w/ you in mind :)
Oooh, that all sounds and looks so lovely and delicious. Thanks for sharing, and so glad to hear you and the fam are doing alright.
